The Uniform Project

One dress worn for a year to raise money for children. Stylishly generous. Find out more here. She should post the dress pattern for even more donations.

Cardboard Love

Sometimes I leave Post-Its love notes under Mr. Fruitfly's keyboard to show him I'm still his main squeeze. The artist behind Cardboard Love took it one step further. Be inspired and spread the love.

Word of the Day: Pomadour

From Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day.

Swap-O-Rama-Rama

Mr. Fruitfly and I had a great time last Sunday at Swap-O-Rama-Rama in Santa Monica. It was a quick 4 hour event but we were so busy chatting and crafting that I was barely able to take these pictures. The event also had a plushy design area, someone who was making t-shirt necklaces (really wanted one), and screen printing stations. The downer was that I didn't get to check out all the cool demonstration. There's always next time, which coincidentally, is July 11 for Renegade Craft Fair. I'll need to rest up for that one, it's sure to be mad crazy busy. Can't wait!

Check out all the designers that volunteered to make this a great event:
Social Studies, Four Idle Hands, Iggy Jingles, Academy of Couture Art, Kokoleo

Swap-O-Rama-Rama Time!

Swap-O-Rama-Rama

Happy girls with printed t-shirt totes.

This Sunday Mr. Fruitfly & I will be at Swap-O-Rama-Rama at the Santa Monica Museum of Art. It's a great event where you can swap out your old t-shirts for "new' old t-shirts that can then be transformed into some thing new...like a reusable grocery bags. Mr. Fruitfly will be on hand teaching a DIY silkscreen technique that is exactly like the poor man's silkscreen but with a less offensive name. Other designers will be there to help you make something special out of old tees. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday, huh?
